About

The PSZ House Corporation was originally formed as a State of California 501(c)(7) non-profit entity, and in January of 2019 filed for a corporate conversion to a 501(c)(3). This change allows donors to make tax-deductible gifts to support the mission.

The PSZ House Corporation acquired its first affordable housing property in 1980. In 1998 that property was sold and a new property with two housing structures was acquired just steps from the campus of California Polytechnic State University. In 2007 an adjacent property was acquired, and all three combined structures were remodeled. A further remodel project was completed in 2018, making the property ADA compliant and providing accessibility for disabled student tenants.

PSZ House Corporation sold its property in December 2019. Proceeds from the sale are invested and managed by a professional money manager for the purpose of growing the Foundation assets and continuing the mission to support undergraduate affordable housing, scholarships, and leadership training.

In March of 2022, PSZ House Corporation acquired the property located at 1264 E. Foothill Blvd., San Luis Obispo, CA 93405. This property has over a half of an acre with four housing structures. There are 12 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 6 kitchens, 5 garages, and over 20 parking spaces. During the summer of 2022 a major renovation project was completed, including structural fortifications, and brand new roofing, flooring, electrical, plumbing, kitchens, bathrooms, water heaters, washers/dryers, and appliances throughout. Tenants moved in between September 15th and October 1st, 2022.

The new property at 1264 E. Foothill Blvd. fully supports our mission “to provide safe, clean, and affordable student housing just steps from the Cal Poly campus”.

Corporation Officers and Directors and Advisory Board Members are 100% volunteers, comprised of Cal Poly alumni committed to supporting the mission.
